Diátritos, written in 2015 but conceived several years prior, is a multi-movement work for organ awarded the first commission competition prized from the American Guild of Organists (AGO). The work was written for Alex Meszler, but was never performed live or seriously recorded due to its difficulty. The recordings below represent two casual attempts at the first two movements of the work: the introit/ricercar, and “the breeze that sweetly trembling April breathes.” The work draws its structural elements from Giovanni Gabrieli’s Lieto Godea Sedendo, a beloved polychoral madrigal of one of my favorite composers.

Currently, I have no immediate plans to release or continue the work in its current form without major alterations.
